Golden Plains announces its 2027 lineup

Golden Plains has announced the lineup for its 19th edition, with the second ballot having just closed and general on-sale beginning next week.

The festival runs from Saturday, March 6 to Monday, March 8 of next year, once again housed at the Meredith Supernatural Amphitheatre on Wadawurrung Country, in the Shire of Golden Plains, Victoria. It remains independent and sponsor-free, with one stage, free-range camping, BYO and an ever-important No Dickheads Policy.

Golden Plains, much like its Aunty Meredith, focuses on an eclectic lineup on a single stage, designed to curate a weekend of music where the objective is discovery and camaraderie among its punters.

This coming year, that eclectic approach sees it headlined by New York rock band and global phenomenon Geese, alongside Underworld, one of dance’s most iconic live acts.

Québécois psych-meets-math-rock duo Angine de Poitrine make their Australian debut, while Peter Garrett & The Alter Egos return with a songbook drawn from his solo work and Midnight Oil years, backed by Oil’s guitarist Martin Rotsey.

Miss Kaninna, the Yorta Yorta, Dja Dja Wurrung, Kalkadoon and Yirendali emcee, plays Saturday night on the strength of her new record ‘BLACKPRINT’, with Baltimore DJ and producer Maurice Fulton set to bring his house expertise. Canada’s Peach, also announced on the bill for Pitch Music & Arts, will do the same, with locals Rydeen and SOVBLKPSSY providing their take on ballroom, house and footwork, made clear on their latest collaborative EP ‘DONT TELL ANYONE’.

Other local acts include Swapmeet, Station Model Violence, Shock Corridor, Intermood, Immy Owusu, Salimata, Tongue Dissolver and more.

The ballot has been the festival's main ticketing route since 2007. Subscribers get priority, and while the second-round ballot is now closed, general on-sale opens on Wednesday, October 28 at 11:11AM AEDT.
