Return To Rio announces lineup for its first foray into the city

Return To Rio, much loved festival which has for many years found its home just north of Eora/Sydney on the banks of the Hawkesbury River, has just announced the lineup for its first foray into the city ever.

In May of this year, Return To Rio organisers announced the cancellation of their 2024 edition, blaming a surge in police and medical costs. Promoters said that their event had become 'almost impossible' to run, falling victim to a rise in costs and pressures that countless other festivals have in this year alone fallen victim to.

Rio has, with this announcement however, clearly got interest in giving up.

This Halloween the festival will be taking over Roundhouse in Kensington, and turning the entire venue into a haunted house. They've boasted theatrical performance art, blood bath burlesque, immersive light shows, a 360 degree stage and visuals among a lineup featuring the likes of Francesca Lombardo, Soul Clap, D-Nox & Beckers, Samantha Loveridge and many more.

With Australia and NSW particularly suffering from numerous festival cancellations this year, Rio has demonstrated a clear desire not to throw in the towel, and to take a direction which many other festivals may find themselves forced to follow soon enough.
