Outsider shares international-heavy 2026 lineup
The festival, set just a few hours north of Gadigal Land/Sydney, appears to have plenty in store for its fifth year.
With the end of Summer now in sight, and the dust of the busiest past of the festival season only just showing signs of settling, the next wave of festival announcements has kicked off.
Leading the pack is Outsider, having just announced one of its most international-heavy lineups to date, now in its fifth year.
Outsider, an intimate, NSW-based DIY festival run by the minds behind Gadigal Land/Sydney-based Headnoiz, has built a reputation for curating lineups featuring the more left-field-leaning side of techno and trance.
Previous iterations have featured Accelerationism, JS, Nelly, Kia, Reptant, Tangela, Andy Garvey, D-Grade, Mikkel Rev, Marius Bø, Vox Supreme, Oprofessionell, DJ Maria and many more from not only across the globe, but right here at home.
This year, Outsider’s commitment to global tastemakers has been elevated, featuring a lineup made up almost entirely of global names.
Those names include djfix and Jek, Ekkel, Hamatsuki, Kasper Marott, Lola Haro, Mademoisel, Sugar Free, Sunju Hargun and Sybil. A number across its bill are no strangers to Australian shores, with the likes of Sybil, Sunju Hargun, and Kasper Marrott having visited in recent years. Ekkel, one of the minds behind Oslo-based trance outfit Ute.Rec, has played every Outsider thus far, with this year being his fifth, demonstrating the strength of their international relationship.
The remainder, however, will debut in the country for the first time, marking an exciting milestone in curation for the festival.
Headnoiz crew’s own Ascensionist, as well as Headnoiz residents Children Of The Mist and Drifters are set to provide a grounding in local flavour for the weekend.
Over the last two years, Outsider has tapped a local collective to collaborate on its Easter Sunday bookings, with last year’s going to Gadigal Land-based tech house aficionados Goo, and the year prior to Naarm/Melbourne’s Techworld. This year, that honour falls to NYC’s Earth Dog Records, run by both Jek and djfix.
