NYC's The Lot Radio to reopen this week after being shuttered for eight months
A key component in financing the station, The Lot Radio's café kiosk was shuttered by city officials in October due to "health violations".

New York's The Lot Radio is reopening to the public after eight months of closure due to renovations.
The independent, online-only station had served coffee, beer, wine and snacks on site, until it was shuttered by city officials due to health violations in October.
The kiosk has now been given the green light to resume, with the kiosk set to reopen on Friday (July 11) from 12:PM until 12:AM.
The Lot Radio announced the reopening via an Instagram post on July 8, sharing that the last eight months had proved an "incredibly difficult time," due to the kiosk being a key component to financing the station. "The project has never been so fragile and on the verge of disappearing," the team wrote.

"Thankfully, the city administration is full of incredible people and the team at the Office of Nightlife have been working non-stop with us to be able to come up with solutions to meet the requests of the Department of Health and Department of Buildings".
The kiosk was spotted last October with a yellow "CLOSED" notice on its doors last October, and it was found that on October 14, 74 health violations had been reported by the city's health department.
The Lot Radio's founder François Vaxelaire had told Resident Advisor in October that the closure was actually due to other reasons: "We want to clarify that the shutdown is unrelated to any sanitary issues or health hazards.
"It is solely the result of us applying for major renovations and being in a temporary undetermined status with New York City's Department of Buildings."

On The Lot Radio's Instagram post, the team appealed for support from the local music community: "For everyone who asked how they can help, here is your chance: come for the reopening, come back the next day, and the next and the next...
"Order 10 beers instead of one, offer a bottle to a stranger, over tip our lovely baristas... Make the Lot your summer hang and enjoy it as much as possible! We missed you and need you to make this season a special one." Check out the post below.
