'Most Australian warehouse party ever' is announced... at Bunnings

If you could imagine the most iconic Australian party location, where might it be?

Bondi Beach? Parliament House? The plains of the outback?

Well, according to Peking Duk and many more, you'd be wrong. The correct answer? Bunnings.

Yesterday, Peking Duk announced via their social channels that they're taking over Preston Bunnings for the country's most "Aussie rave ever" on Saturday, August 31. The idea, initially pitched & campaigned for by Kaila in April via his TikTok account, garned a huge amount of attention that ultimately saw Peking Duk throwing their hat in the ring to perform.

From there, the duo & Kaila worked on organising alongside Bunnings, and building a lineup for the first ever party to be held at one of Australia's most iconic businesses. Now featuring the likes of What So Not, NAYNAY, LOTTIE, as well as Kaila and Peking Duk themselves on the bill, could the event rival the likes of the UK's TWP?

For those us of who can imagine nothing better than fully utilising the space of a Bunnings warehouse for an extended event however, there comes an important caveat. The event will, understandably, only be running outside in the carpark (as to not intrude upon the store itself), for three hours, and will be alcohol free.

There is still plenty to celebrate here however, as the event aims to support live Australian music, with all profit raised via tickets (and the mandatory sausage sizzle) going towards Support Act, a not-for-profit focused on supporting people in the music industry.

This event sets an incredible precedent for commercial businesses recognising the scale and influence of dance music within Australia, but which iconic location could be next?

Our money is on a Qantas hanger, who seem to be in need of a good PR story.

Tickets to the Bunnings Warehouse Party are available here. Find more information via Peking Duk's socials below:
