Gilles Peterson announces Australian speaking tour dates
The iconic radio host & Worldwide FM founder is visiting Australian shores for the first in a very long time.

Influential UK-based DJ, label owner, author and radio presenter Gilles Peterson is set to host a set of intimate in-person conversations across Gadigal Land/Sydney and Naarm/Melbourne later this year.
The man of many hats, visiting Australian & Aotearoa/New Zealand shores for appearances at Strawberry Fields, as well as events by Crown Ruler and Astral People, returns after five years.
In many ways, his return could not be more timely, with jazz arguably taking centre stage once again across countless festival lineups and with its essence increasingly woven into records, continuing to cross genre boundaries. For over 40 years, Peterson himself has stood at the forefront of more 'alternative' sounds finding their way into traditionally club-oriented spaces.
Outside of DJ sets at the events above, late last week, EMC announced Liner Notes, a special sit-down evening where Peterson will be joined by Rob G (Galliano) to "join musical dots". This will see the pair blending music playback, personal reflections of Australia and storytelling in a format that he calls "radio for your eyes".
From jazz to club culture, Gilles is set to guide audiences through a musical journey spanning genre, era and geographies, leaning on stories, poems and anecdotal insights from his forty-year career.
Alongside support from Melo of Fanático Records, the extended conversation is set to take place at The Vanguard on Monday, November 17.
In Naarm/Melbourne, Peterson is set to appear at Northcote venue High Note, a space increasingly known for similarly intimate and stimulating conversation, on Thursday, November 20.
Tickets for Gilles' appearance on Gadigal Land are available now, with Naarm to be officially announced soon.
