Gateway Festival is the newest addition to Naarm's one-day festival calendar
The brand new event boasts a massive lineup at one of the city's most picturesque locations.
Australia's one day festivals are often left out of the conversation when it comes to international praise. Camping festivals, and the escape to the country's many varied and beautiful biomes, are what comes to mind for many when they think of Australian dance music.
In reality, Australia's single day festivals are having a hey day.
Gateway Festival, Naarm/Melbourne's newest single day event, is one of those events.
Just announcing its first event on Saturday, December 7, the festival is set to focus on house and progressive dance at one of Naarm's most stunning locations, Heide Museum of Modern Art's Sculpture Gardens.
Festival organiser, Mitchell Gee, said Gateway will bring the best elements of European festivals to Naarm while celebrating the city’s rich history of music, art and landscapes.
“We wanted to create an experience where attendees feel like they are out in nature without the long commute. Heide is an iconic art institution on 16 acres of heritage listed gardens which we’re keen to spotlight, in addition to innovative light installations and stage creations," he said.
The lineup sees a variety of international acts appearing, including the increasingly popular Harrison BDP, Korea's S.O.N.S, making an appearance in Australia for the first in a very long time, as well as locals like Aldonna, Osmosis Jones, Yarra, DJ Luv You and many more.
