Elmar debuts with immersive 'Beneath My Skin' album
Intended to evoke a sense of sanctuary, the LP draws greatly on nature and organic experiences
Elmar - the alias of musician Jack Froggatt - has unveiled his debut album, 'Beneath My Skin'.
Across its 10 tracks, the record welcomes stripped back, acoustic elements to channel feelings of nostalgia, optimism and vulnerability, as the body of work embraces a calm yet powerful energy.

It was constructed sans-pressure across three years, with an intense focus on the freedom to explore creativity. Whilst tracks might utilise more melancholic sound design in places, or feature darker, hypnotic elements, often their lyricism and subtle additions showcase what Elmar describes as "a glimmer of hope".
"Making both the ‘Beneath My Skin’ album and the Elmar project as a whole was a lesson in letting go and trusting my musical intuition," he tells Mixmag. "The calming, pressure free creative process was such an enabler for my mind to switch off and unwind. In doing so, that seemed to be the key to unlock a musical world that, to me, felt effortless and fully formed.
"A main driver for this project was to re-establish a sense of connection to the world around me, whether that was the surrounding nature that inspired the sonics of the songs, or joining my love of music to the surfing, nature-loving communities that I had found solace in. Ultimately Elmar for me feels like a lifetime creative expression, one that I hope spans the depth of music I love and am inspired by. This album is the beginning of that journey."
