The music catalogues of deadmau5 and his mau5trap Records label have been acquired by Create Music Group for $55 million.
The deal involves more than 4,000 tracks, and also marks the beginning of a joint venture to release future recordings by deadmau5, real name Jole Zimmerman, and mau5trap, which has released music from the likes of Skrillex, REZZ and i_o.

It marks the continuation of a trent in recent years of high profile musicians selling the rights to their catalogues, including Stevie Nicks, Shakira and Justin Bieber.
