Bizarro announces Mode, Overtone & Freeform 2026 lineups

The minds and hands behind Mode Festival, Freeform and Overtone have announced the return of all three events in 2026, with a slew of international names set to bring a huge offering across Australia's East Coast over the October long weekend.

On Gadigal Land/Sydney, Naarm/Melbourne, and Kombumerri/Gold Coast, respectively, the three events have enabled Bizarro to share their connections with punters across each city, focusing on a variety of global heavyweights and locals from each city's thriving, more community-oriented spaces.

This morning, in sharing both Mode's fifth year & the second editions of Freeform (in collaboration with Crown Ruler) and Overtone, Bizarro have announced the lineups for all three, setting the stage for the earliest hints of 2026's summer festival season.

Across all three, there are a series of shared international names, including Richie Hawtin, Barry Can't Swim, Avalon Emerson, Freedy K, D. Dan, Two Shell, and others. A variety of its heavyweights are set to appear exclusively at certain events, with the likes of Call Super featuring at Mode and Freeform only, and Mall Grab only at Overtone.

Alongside this list of major internationals are a variety of locals, tapped for each event in their hometown. That sees alilia B2B anusha and Fuchsia for Mode Festival, Rakhi, KSMBA, and CRŸBABY for Freeform, and Ngaaru and Tori Pepper for Overtone. Alongside them, the likes of Bella Claxton, Ned Bennett, SWIM, Hasvat Informant and more are set to make multiple stops around the country for the busy weekend.

Alongside its lineups, the three festivals return to iconic spaces in each city, with Mode continuing its run on Cockatoo Island/Wareamah, Freeform taking place once again at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl, and Overtone at Musgrave Park.

That will see Overtone on Friday, October 2; Freeform on Saturday, October 3; and Mode move to Sunday for the first time on October 4.

Early access for each festival opens on Wednesday, June 10, with general on-sale beginning on Thursday, June 11.
