Big names in dance music unite to boost voter turnout in US elections

As the 2024 U.S. elections approach, Rave The Vote is teaming up with HeadCount to merge dance music with civic duty.

This partnership is part of HeadCount’s Good to Vote initiative, which has been instrumental in engaging young voters since its launch in 2020. The campaign's goal is simple: get dance music enthusiasts to check their voter registration status via a dedicated URL and sign up for text reminders about voting.

The incentive? A specially curated bundle of music from some of the biggest names in the industry such as Carl Craig, Louie Vega, TOKiMONSTA, Seth Troxler and more.

“There is a lot at stake in this election, and we need dance music fans to show up and vote for values that are synonymous with our culture; peace, love, unity and respect,” said Rave The Vote in a statement.

Lucille Wenegieme, Executive Director of HeadCount, adds: “Music and democracy go hand in hand, and with the support of these incredible artists, we're confident that we'll see a strong turnout and a real impact in this year's elections.”

Dance music’s political influence towards the US elections is not something new; in 2020, Diplo took to social media to motivate voter participation.

Back in 2018, Canadian producer A-Trak took to X (fka Twitter) for the midterm elections, encouraging his US followers to exercise their right to vote.
