Bicep have unveiled the fifth release on their underground-focused CHROMA imprint, ‘CHROMA 005 A.L.O.E’.

Released under their B.D.B alias, a collaboration between the duo and techno stalwart Benjamin Damage, the track was first teased during Bicep's final run of live shows in 2022. It follows the pair's previous collaboration with Damage, 'CHROMA 002 L.A.V.A', which debuted in March.

The release follows a successful run of CHROMA AV/DJ shows at Glastonbury, Coachella, and Wilderness, as well as last week's sold-out show in Finsbury Park, London.

Unveiled last January, Bicep’s CHROMA project takes the form of a record label, an event series and an AV/DJ show, with the aim of exploring more experimental performance practices and a wider range of genres, whilst remaining firmly rooted in the underground.

‘CHROMA 005 A.L.O.E’ came to fruition whilst Damage, a long-term friend and frequent collaborator of Bicep, was visiting London. "Whenever Ben's in town we always experiment with something new, and in this case it was a custom setup with a Cirklon sequencer," Bicep said in a statement around the release.

"The beauty of that is you can only really capture live takes and never really return to a specific pattern again. We really love this one," they add.

The new track signifies a reversion towards the softer, more emotional sound of the duo’s earlier productions, in comparison to the harder, club-ready direction of 'CHROMA 002 L.A.V.A'.

Bicep will be bringing the CHROMA show, along with their new tracks, to multiple festivals this year including Philadelphia's Making Time, San Francisco's Portola and Barcelona's Mira.
