Sounds Australia announces a presence at this year's Amsterdam Dance Event
The government funded music body is setting up shop for the world to see.
Sounds Australia has announced the launch of a large-scale initiative at this year's Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE), one of the largest gatherings of electronic music artists and professionals in the world.
The organisation, a government-funded body designed to assist Australian musicians in becoming established overseas, has set a clear goal to embed itself even more deeply into Australia's blossoming electronic and dance music industry.
'Australia House' will find a home at Box Sociaal Jordaan, deep in the heart of Amsterdam city, for the duration of this year's ADE. The organisations presence on-ground hopes to bring together influential industry players and trailblazers from around the world, serving as both a meeting hub for Australian industry at the event, as well as a home for a series of events.
"Australia is the third largest market in the world for electronic music – and an Australian fan, on average, streams more of the genre than anyone else on the planet. Incredibly talented artists have achieved massive success internationally, taking over main stages and underground clubs around the world, while paving the way for the next generation of rising talent," Sounds Australia said of the decision behind their start at ADE.
ADE is the world's largest gathering for electronic music, running from October 16-20 of this year, with 1,000+ events and 200+ locations spread across Amsterdam.
With a physical space at the event, Sounds Australia is looking to be a trailblazer of its own, putting Australia's dance space on stage for the world to see.
