We create inclusive spaces for people to dance, connect and have fun. Having run a number of parties across Naarm, our goal is to facilitate social connections that go beyond the dancefloor and into the formation of communities that support, uplift and look out for each other all while ensuring everyone feels comfortable getting a bit silly on the dance floor. As DJ’s, the Succulent Funk team bring an exciting blend of House, Disco & more to the dance floor, often with a global twist. Our aim is to shift dance floor culture by creating dynamic installations that blend the past and present, fostering social connections and putting the spotlight on the partygoers, cultivating supportive and safe communities.
We are beyond excited to welcome Frank Booker - The Aotearoa selector known worldwide for his impeccable taste in House, Disco, Funk & Soul. With releases on labels like Razor-N-Tape and Wonderful Noise, plus a record bag that runs mighty deep, Frank has lit up dance floors all over the globe, playing aside the likes of Moodymann, DJ Harvey, Gilles Peterson and plenty more. Plus, Booker was the DJ of choice for a private party for Prince when he visited Aotearoa in 2016 - now that’s a gig.
Joined by an absolute Succulent Funk favourite - O Honey. If you haven’t seen O Honey play, well damn, you are in for a treat. And those that have know a good time is brewing. Eva has played some of the funkiest dance floors around - Meredith Music Festival, When Pigs Fly, Echo Beach - and not to mention Spasta (alongside Marcellus Pittman!)
And finally, setting the tone for the evening; Miles Ahead. Having played alongside Giles Smith, Bill Brewster and a whole cast of local legends to kick off 2025, Miles Ahead will bring a lovely bag of mid tempo groovers to loosen those hips and get ya two steppin.
