Platform Presents is a Naarm/Melbourne-based creative studio and curatorial platform working at the intersection of experimental art and electronic music. Founded by Jess Dang, Platform is best known for building immersive environments around sound, where club culture and visual art are treated as one continuous experience.
Their projects sit somewhere between a gallery show and a dancefloor. Across exhibitions, late-night takeovers and pop-up events, Platform brings together DJs, live electronic acts and visual artists to create spatial, audio-reactive worlds shaped by techno, trance and experimental sound. Projection, real-time visuals and interactive installations respond directly to music, turning each event into something that evolves in sync with what’s being played.
With a focus on emerging and boundary-pushing artists, Platform’s programming leans into the experimental edge of the scene while staying grounded in community. Whether inside heritage-listed buildings, warehouses or temporary spaces, their events centre movement and exploration.
Platform and SoundCheck present GROUND, an immersive audiovisual performance by Nikita Zabelin, returning to Melbourne following a sold out debut last year.
GROUND dissolves the boundaries of a traditional live show, blending modular synthesis, laser, and atmosphere into a meditative journey. Laser frames the space while layers of sound unfold in real time, creating a sense of controlled chaos that grounds the audience and guides them inward.
At the Norla Dome, GROUND becomes a direct collaboration between sound, laser, and architecture. The space itself shapes the experience, with resonance, echo, and spatial depth becoming part of the composition.
At the heart of the performance is the modular synthesizer. Through evolving tonal immersions and minimalist textures, Zabelin invites deep listening, where each sonic element resonates with intention and precision. The experience is both contemplative and transformative, shifting between intensity and stillness, chaos and clarity.
A leading figure in the music scene, Nikita Zabelin is an electronic musician, DJ, producer and educator whose career spans influential radio projects, music labels (Resonance Moscow, трип) festival appearances, and collaborations across the globe. Known for his forward thinking approach to sound, he has become a central voice in shaping new directions in electronic music.
GROUND has travelled from European art festivals such as Portugal’s LUZA and Berlin’s LOST to unique spaces including a bunker 43 metres underground. It has also been presented in collaboration with Greenpeace, reflecting its broader commitment to exploring the intersection of sound, community, science, and environmental awareness.
This is not just a concert but a living environment that draws the audience into a shared state of reflection and connection.
