S.A.S.H was founded in May 2011, inspired by the Sunday party culture of Chapel Bar in London and created to fill the gap left in Sydney nightlife after the closure of Sounds on Sunday. What began as a niche Sunday afternoon gathering has grown into a weekly institution, helping define Sydney’s recovery-era nightlife for more than 15 years. Despite the theories around its name, S.A.S.H officially stands for nothing. It was inspired by the TV show MAS*H during the naming process, though fans have since created their own meanings, including “Sorry About Sundays, Honey” and “Sunday Afternoon Sunday House.” The brand became known for its Day & Night marathon format, moving from S.A.S.H by Day in The Greenwood Hotel’s open-air sandstone courtyard to S.A.S.H by Night at Home Nightclub on Darling Harbour. In late 2025, S.A.S.H entered a new chapter with S.A.S.H Saturdays at Carousel Bar & Ballroom on Oxford Street, bringing its community energy into the heart of the weekend. Musically, S.A.S.H is strictly dedicated to house, spanning deep, chuggy grooves through to minimal and tech-house, with a strong focus on sound quality and Funktion-One systems. Its culture is built around a no-phones dance floor, relaxed dress code and a loyal community known for going all-in on fancy dress, especially at the annual April birthday parties. Beyond Sydney, S.A.S.H has expanded to Melbourne, Brisbane, Byron Bay, Wollongong, Bali, Ibiza and London, while S.A.S.H Records launched in 2020 as another extension of the brand.

With Santa slingin’ his sack down to S.A.S.H.M.A.S in Sydney, a boisterous pit-stop in Byron Bay well and truly deserved! Holiday season is here, and with the Australian weather ready to show up for Summer, there’s no better place for a night of dancing than The Northern in Byron Bay. The man in red will drop off a colourful counterpart, as Byron Bay braces for Reflex Blue to take over the coastal town. Funky, housey, looney & tuney, Reflex Blue has the skills to turn the dance floor into hard working boogie elves. The Aussie has been around the globe with appearances at some of the world’s most renowned parties, so it’s a pleasure to bring him with us, alongside our festive spirit to Byron Bay! He’ll be joined by some familiar faces from around town: Shane.MOV returns to the yellow horse, a hard worker in Santa’s shop, Shane will ensure the booth is up to scratch before the main man takes over. Aidan Knox is in the shop, a love for socks is what’s on top. In the early hours of Sunday morning, Aidan will dish out some egg-nog brew, to follow on from Reflex Blue! To keep things calm before the storm, Calmy delivers all things stripped and groovy, he’ll heat up the treats for all to enjoy with a selection session to start the night.
