S.A.S.H was founded in May 2011, inspired by the Sunday party culture of Chapel Bar in London and created to fill the gap left in Sydney nightlife after the closure of Sounds on Sunday. What began as a niche Sunday afternoon gathering has grown into a weekly institution, helping define Sydney’s recovery-era nightlife for more than 15 years.
Despite the theories around its name, S.A.S.H officially stands for nothing. It was inspired by the TV show MAS*H during the naming process, though fans have since created their own meanings, including “Sorry About Sundays, Honey” and “Sunday Afternoon Sunday House.”
The brand became known for its Day & Night marathon format, moving from S.A.S.H by Day in The Greenwood Hotel’s open-air sandstone courtyard to S.A.S.H by Night at Home Nightclub on Darling Harbour. In late 2025, S.A.S.H entered a new chapter with S.A.S.H Saturdays at Carousel Bar & Ballroom on Oxford Street, bringing its community energy into the heart of the weekend.
Musically, S.A.S.H is strictly dedicated to house, spanning deep, chuggy grooves through to minimal and tech-house, with a strong focus on sound quality and Funktion-One systems. Its culture is built around a no-phones dance floor, relaxed dress code and a loyal community known for going all-in on fancy dress, especially at the annual April birthday parties.
Beyond Sydney, S.A.S.H has expanded to Melbourne, Brisbane, Byron Bay, Wollongong, Bali, Ibiza and London, while S.A.S.H Records launched in 2020 as another extension of the brand.

Our next collaborative venture into the deep dark depths of Civic Underground comes paired with a double dose of danger.
This time around we’re bordering up the walls and stacking the place, joining forces with Wav.es and Umbrella. We’re loading up the trucks and filling the place to the brim with their regulars, paired up and pitted together for an evening of all-out back-to-backs in true Wav.es and Umbrella style.
Taking the bold for the night, Doctavio & Daleh link arms to throwback to their early days rising through the ranks. These lads have been paired up and thrown down together at parties aplenty. Their chemistry is undeniable, on and off the field, a match made in heaven, delivered in the underground.
Umbrella boss man Ma.off joins the crew, paired with the phenomenal Amy (derouw). Mischievous miscreants Jasper and Dan have also jumped on board the musical van. Up from Melbourne for an evening or two, PIP pairs with Jade Bourke on the 1s and 2s. Rounding things out and kicking us off, A to Ź are filling up the trough.
