S.A.S.H was founded in May 2011, inspired by the Sunday party culture of Chapel Bar in London and created to fill the gap left in Sydney nightlife after the closure of Sounds on Sunday. What began as a niche Sunday afternoon gathering has grown into a weekly institution, helping define Sydney’s recovery-era nightlife for more than 15 years. Despite the theories around its name, S.A.S.H officially stands for nothing. It was inspired by the TV show MAS*H during the naming process, though fans have since created their own meanings, including “Sorry About Sundays, Honey” and “Sunday Afternoon Sunday House.” The brand became known for its Day & Night marathon format, moving from S.A.S.H by Day in The Greenwood Hotel’s open-air sandstone courtyard to S.A.S.H by Night at Home Nightclub on Darling Harbour. In late 2025, S.A.S.H entered a new chapter with S.A.S.H Saturdays at Carousel Bar & Ballroom on Oxford Street, bringing its community energy into the heart of the weekend. Musically, S.A.S.H is strictly dedicated to house, spanning deep, chuggy grooves through to minimal and tech-house, with a strong focus on sound quality and Funktion-One systems. Its culture is built around a no-phones dance floor, relaxed dress code and a loyal community known for going all-in on fancy dress, especially at the annual April birthday parties. Beyond Sydney, S.A.S.H has expanded to Melbourne, Brisbane, Byron Bay, Wollongong, Bali, Ibiza and London, while S.A.S.H Records launched in 2020 as another extension of the brand.

Australia's premiere underground festival, Subsonic, makes its return in 2023. S.A.S.H have the honour and pleasure of hosting the Paradiso Stage on the Sunday of the festival, so to celebrate and kick off the silly season, we’re joining forces with Subsonic for a night at Sydney’s brand new, state of the art club, Carousel. Located in the heart of Australia’s cultural and music mecca, Oxford Street, Carousel boasts one of the most impressive Funktion One sound systems in the country, with a unique lighting rig to match that features one-of-a-kind lights imported from Amsterdam. As with all of our collaborative efforts, we’re pitting together some of our nearest and dearest from both S.A.S.H and Subsonic for a night of back-to-backs to give us a taste of what to expect come December by the river, headlined by a very special Secret Guest… Can you guess who? On support for our secret spinners, Cassette and Ben Booth are locked and loaded to bring home the night, keeping us moving and grooving till the wee hours of the morning, whilst Venda and Kemba are linking arms, hips, knees and toes for the first time to kick things off and roll in the evening’s proceedings with low slung, well hung, stripped back selects.
