S.A.S.H was founded in May 2011, inspired by the Sunday party culture of Chapel Bar in London and created to fill the gap left in Sydney nightlife after the closure of Sounds on Sunday. What began as a niche Sunday afternoon gathering has grown into a weekly institution, helping define Sydney’s recovery-era nightlife for more than 15 years. Despite the theories around its name, S.A.S.H officially stands for nothing. It was inspired by the TV show MAS*H during the naming process, though fans have since created their own meanings, including “Sorry About Sundays, Honey” and “Sunday Afternoon Sunday House.” The brand became known for its Day & Night marathon format, moving from S.A.S.H by Day in The Greenwood Hotel’s open-air sandstone courtyard to S.A.S.H by Night at Home Nightclub on Darling Harbour. In late 2025, S.A.S.H entered a new chapter with S.A.S.H Saturdays at Carousel Bar & Ballroom on Oxford Street, bringing its community energy into the heart of the weekend. Musically, S.A.S.H is strictly dedicated to house, spanning deep, chuggy grooves through to minimal and tech-house, with a strong focus on sound quality and Funktion-One systems. Its culture is built around a no-phones dance floor, relaxed dress code and a loyal community known for going all-in on fancy dress, especially at the annual April birthday parties. Beyond Sydney, S.A.S.H has expanded to Melbourne, Brisbane, Byron Bay, Wollongong, Bali, Ibiza and London, while S.A.S.H Records launched in 2020 as another extension of the brand.

Well accustomed now, the third edition of our new night of the week belongs to one of the all-time greats of the deeper side of house music, Mihai Popoviciu. Mihai is considered one of the most innovative eastern European producers of electronic music today. He started producing music in 2001 and over many years of dedication – and lots of experimenting – he developed a truly unique and signature sound. As a producer he likes to innovate and is always refining his sound palette. His flavourous DJ sets have a distinctive personal touch delivering a perfectly balanced mixture of groovy beats, warm pads and musical emotions that leave you itching for more. For a stalwart of this stature, we had to double down, inviting along both the Jupiter X & Bass Haven crews to join forces. A collection of their residents, in the forms of Stizz, Ronan & Holmesy, are going toe to toe… to toe, locking in for a serious b3b to close out the night, with their warm sound to mirror the sunrise session. Ensuring the floor is properly warmed for our esteemed guest, Cassette is locked and loaded to roll out those early groovers, and ensure the floor is properly warmed. As always, you bring your dancing shoes, we’ll provide the rest xx
