S.A.S.H was founded in May 2011, inspired by the Sunday party culture of Chapel Bar in London and created to fill the gap left in Sydney nightlife after the closure of Sounds on Sunday. What began as a niche Sunday afternoon gathering has grown into a weekly institution, helping define Sydney’s recovery-era nightlife for more than 15 years. Despite the theories around its name, S.A.S.H officially stands for nothing. It was inspired by the TV show MAS*H during the naming process, though fans have since created their own meanings, including “Sorry About Sundays, Honey” and “Sunday Afternoon Sunday House.” The brand became known for its Day & Night marathon format, moving from S.A.S.H by Day in The Greenwood Hotel’s open-air sandstone courtyard to S.A.S.H by Night at Home Nightclub on Darling Harbour. In late 2025, S.A.S.H entered a new chapter with S.A.S.H Saturdays at Carousel Bar & Ballroom on Oxford Street, bringing its community energy into the heart of the weekend. Musically, S.A.S.H is strictly dedicated to house, spanning deep, chuggy grooves through to minimal and tech-house, with a strong focus on sound quality and Funktion-One systems. Its culture is built around a no-phones dance floor, relaxed dress code and a loyal community known for going all-in on fancy dress, especially at the annual April birthday parties. Beyond Sydney, S.A.S.H has expanded to Melbourne, Brisbane, Byron Bay, Wollongong, Bali, Ibiza and London, while S.A.S.H Records launched in 2020 as another extension of the brand.

It wouldn’t be true S.A.S.H style if we didn’t throw a secret guest into the mix. Round 4 and we’ve hit all the bases, and we’re just getting started. A masked magician wrapped in between two brothers from separate mothers, a night or pure delight in on the menu and we’re eager to dig in. Our mystery marvel is most definitely secretive, and there’s no other day of the week we would rather place them on. Who are they, and what do they have in store for us? They’ll seductively select & perfectly perform, all we can say is they’re the best of the best. SS+ Bligs is back in the saddle, ready for a bridge of big bombs behind the booth. He’s a staple choice when it comes to solid selectors, and he’s done nothing but show up, deliver & dress to impress when he’s in our midst. If he isn’t out gigging, he’s hidden himself deep into his studio & thrown away the key. Much like Bligs but on a youthful tip, Ufday returns to the saddle for a solo session in Carousel. With previous efforts seeing him join forces with like minded industry heads, Ufday is ready to take the reins and solidify his position as one of the scene's best. As always, our focus for homegrown talent is a must, and with After Dark’s goal to expand our community, the opening slot is on offer to a fresh new face to saddle up on the horse. Announced weekly, an eager jockey will take control of the club to kick things into gear for the evening.
