S.A.S.H was founded in May 2011, inspired by the Sunday party culture of Chapel Bar in London and created to fill the gap left in Sydney nightlife after the closure of Sounds on Sunday. What began as a niche Sunday afternoon gathering has grown into a weekly institution, helping define Sydney’s recovery-era nightlife for more than 15 years. Despite the theories around its name, S.A.S.H officially stands for nothing. It was inspired by the TV show MAS*H during the naming process, though fans have since created their own meanings, including “Sorry About Sundays, Honey” and “Sunday Afternoon Sunday House.” The brand became known for its Day & Night marathon format, moving from S.A.S.H by Day in The Greenwood Hotel’s open-air sandstone courtyard to S.A.S.H by Night at Home Nightclub on Darling Harbour. In late 2025, S.A.S.H entered a new chapter with S.A.S.H Saturdays at Carousel Bar & Ballroom on Oxford Street, bringing its community energy into the heart of the weekend. Musically, S.A.S.H is strictly dedicated to house, spanning deep, chuggy grooves through to minimal and tech-house, with a strong focus on sound quality and Funktion-One systems. Its culture is built around a no-phones dance floor, relaxed dress code and a loyal community known for going all-in on fancy dress, especially at the annual April birthday parties. Beyond Sydney, S.A.S.H has expanded to Melbourne, Brisbane, Byron Bay, Wollongong, Bali, Ibiza and London, while S.A.S.H Records launched in 2020 as another extension of the brand.

S.A.S.H welcome dear friends from Amsterdam: Slapfunk. With their Mothership taking flight to our side of the world, two forces combine... Amsterdam’s audio concoction consisting of a 1:1 ratio of Slap & Funk; SlapFunk make their way down to Australia for a special, presenting some of their finest speaker smacking, hip shaking beats. Without limiting themselves to genre boundaries, Slapfunk is about all things body moving, and even though they are not musically defined, they definitely have a sound defining the music industry. The representative’s sent are none other than Doudou MD & Samuel Deep; two dance floor advocates who share a love for music and culture. Musical maestro Doudou MD comes with a big history in the music world, her percussive roots shine through her work in the booth, sewing flavours from around the world due to her travels as a renowned disc jockey. Constantly looking to bring in new treats, her record bag is always welcoming new additions from all areas; both sweet and savoury, whatever it is to get the dance floor drooling. Co-founder Samuel Deep brings a skippy yet chunky flavour to the table, with his musical work containing chugging bass-lines and skippy percussion, leaving it impossible not to get up and dance. Samuel and his brother Julian’s work ethic within Slapfunk is undeniably outstanding, putting out countless Slapping & Funky records for any dance floor setting. With Doudou MD and Samuel Deep taking charge for the night, our nearest and dearest Whitecat will be throwing down some funky slappers in the early hours to warm up our heads, shoulders, knees and toes for a night of dirty dancing.
