S.A.S.H was founded in May 2011, inspired by the Sunday party culture of Chapel Bar in London and created to fill the gap left in Sydney nightlife after the closure of Sounds on Sunday. What began as a niche Sunday afternoon gathering has grown into a weekly institution, helping define Sydney’s recovery-era nightlife for more than 15 years.
Despite the theories around its name, S.A.S.H officially stands for nothing. It was inspired by the TV show MAS*H during the naming process, though fans have since created their own meanings, including “Sorry About Sundays, Honey” and “Sunday Afternoon Sunday House.”
The brand became known for its Day & Night marathon format, moving from S.A.S.H by Day in The Greenwood Hotel’s open-air sandstone courtyard to S.A.S.H by Night at Home Nightclub on Darling Harbour. In late 2025, S.A.S.H entered a new chapter with S.A.S.H Saturdays at Carousel Bar & Ballroom on Oxford Street, bringing its community energy into the heart of the weekend.
Musically, S.A.S.H is strictly dedicated to house, spanning deep, chuggy grooves through to minimal and tech-house, with a strong focus on sound quality and Funktion-One systems. Its culture is built around a no-phones dance floor, relaxed dress code and a loyal community known for going all-in on fancy dress, especially at the annual April birthday parties.
Beyond Sydney, S.A.S.H has expanded to Melbourne, Brisbane, Byron Bay, Wollongong, Bali, Ibiza and London, while S.A.S.H Records launched in 2020 as another extension of the brand.

Straight back into it after a romper session at both Greenwood and Home The Venue with tINI and we’re back again like bees to honey. We said we were going Home for the holidays, and we meant it. Once again, we return to Home The Venue, this time taking over the entire venue for a mammoth SlapFunk after party featuring Ingi Visions for another extended set.
With the holidays just around the corner, we turn our sights to Gooch week. In this confusing time of year between the ass end of Christmas and the dick around of the new year, let us take one decision off your plate. We’re fortunate enough this year to have Boxing Day fall on a Monday, meaning that whilst we don’t get to celebrate our usual Sunday shindig, we get to do it on Monday instead. With Tuesday also being a public holiday we’re sure you know what happens next, it’s a big one, 15 hours of true S.A.S.H power at Home The Venue from 9pm right through to midday on Tuesday.
So once your family Christmas gatherings are finished and the Tupperware containers filled with leftovers, go home and get a good night’s sleep, you’re going to need it!
With no more university, no more family commitments, and no work the next two days, it’s time to let your hair down, and join the party. We’ll provide the tequila, the Funktion One’s and the music, you bring your dancing shoes!
