S.A.S.H
S.A.S.H was founded in May 2011, inspired by the Sunday party culture of Chapel Bar in London and created to fill the gap left in Sydney nightlife after the closure of Sounds on Sunday. What began as a niche Sunday afternoon gathering has grown into a weekly institution, helping define Sydney’s recovery-era nightlife for more than 15 years. Despite the theories around its name, S.A.S.H officially stands for nothing. It was inspired by the TV show MAS*H during the naming process, though fans have since created their own meanings, including “Sorry About Sundays, Honey” and “Sunday Afternoon Sunday House.” The brand became known for its Day & Night marathon format, moving from S.A.S.H by Day in The Greenwood Hotel’s open-air sandstone courtyard to S.A.S.H by Night at Home Nightclub on Darling Harbour. In late 2025, S.A.S.H entered a new chapter with S.A.S.H Saturdays at Carousel Bar & Ballroom on Oxford Street, bringing its community energy into the heart of the weekend. Musically, S.A.S.H is strictly dedicated to house, spanning deep, chuggy grooves through to minimal and tech-house, with a strong focus on sound quality and Funktion-One systems. Its culture is built around a no-phones dance floor, relaxed dress code and a loyal community known for going all-in on fancy dress, especially at the annual April birthday parties. Beyond Sydney, S.A.S.H has expanded to Melbourne, Brisbane, Byron Bay, Wollongong, Bali, Ibiza and London, while S.A.S.H Records launched in 2020 as another extension of the brand.
S.A.S.H Melbourne & WAVES Present SlapFunk Ingi Visions 6 Hour Set Christmas Eve
Twas the night before Christmas and all-around town, the air was electric, with the SlapFunk sound… We’re joining forces, arms and hips with our pals over at WAVES to put together a show worth being hungover for Christmas lunch for. Founded in 2012, SlapFunk is a house label with a simple mission: to get dance floors moving. The brothers Samuel Deep and Julian Alexander run the label alongside their good pal Yogh, and have put out slurry of releases so far. Each new drop is rhythmic and punchy, built around powerful basslines and driving grooves, winning over dancers with crafty drum programming and catchy samples. SlapFunk tunes are reduced, every element geared for maximum impact on a busy dance floor. Examining field notes found in the third realm of the dense spirit world, we came to know more about the voyage that brought earth the blood brothers Samuel Deep and Julian Alexander. While Samuel is known for his raw, remorseless and energetic sound, his sibling Julian chose a slightly more introspective form of pure dance floor music, full of depth and his beloved jazz influences. Realising a fuse of these individual styles would result into a potion of unearthly force, the two decided to create music together as Ingi Visions. Luckily for the temporary vessels and permanent souls that dwell on this planet, these dance warriors are here to stay. On support for the brothers, Kerry Wallace and Eddie Guy go toe to toe, whilst the crew from Grey Area take control of The Den from 4pm – 10pm.
