S.A.S.H was founded in May 2011, inspired by the Sunday party culture of Chapel Bar in London and created to fill the gap left in Sydney nightlife after the closure of Sounds on Sunday. What began as a niche Sunday afternoon gathering has grown into a weekly institution, helping define Sydney’s recovery-era nightlife for more than 15 years. Despite the theories around its name, S.A.S.H officially stands for nothing. It was inspired by the TV show MAS*H during the naming process, though fans have since created their own meanings, including “Sorry About Sundays, Honey” and “Sunday Afternoon Sunday House.” The brand became known for its Day & Night marathon format, moving from S.A.S.H by Day in The Greenwood Hotel’s open-air sandstone courtyard to S.A.S.H by Night at Home Nightclub on Darling Harbour. In late 2025, S.A.S.H entered a new chapter with S.A.S.H Saturdays at Carousel Bar & Ballroom on Oxford Street, bringing its community energy into the heart of the weekend. Musically, S.A.S.H is strictly dedicated to house, spanning deep, chuggy grooves through to minimal and tech-house, with a strong focus on sound quality and Funktion-One systems. Its culture is built around a no-phones dance floor, relaxed dress code and a loyal community known for going all-in on fancy dress, especially at the annual April birthday parties. Beyond Sydney, S.A.S.H has expanded to Melbourne, Brisbane, Byron Bay, Wollongong, Bali, Ibiza and London, while S.A.S.H Records launched in 2020 as another extension of the brand.

The BIG 14th Birthday sees us continue our travelling theme as we make our way through the audacious alphabet with Alexia, from Brazil, taking Cairns head on with her prestigious bag of wax. Like all good birthdays, attendees get to experience goodie bags to conclude the party, however this time it’ll be the world's grooviest gift; music! Alexia has made a name for herself in recent years, and makes her way back to Australian shores. Last time Alexia was here, she made her way around down south in Sydney & Melbourne, warming the floor perfectly for Margaret Dygas. This time, she heads north to shell some peak time bombs at the maginifcent Tanks Art Centre in Cairns. Our S.A.S.H Summer Resident ritmiq has opted to lug her luggage as he joins Alexia on her travels North. Master of potions, and everything with motion, we’re not quite sure what crazy concoctions he’s been cooking up, but they’re sure to be tasty. Get ready to be given a lesson on gritty grooves and beefy bass-lines, as our illustrious instructor dishes out a masterclass. Appetisers have been purposely taken off the menu as we’ve left it up to you to show us how to get down in the kitchen. Put your mixes in the oven and serve them up via our competition for your chance to open the doors for service on the 30th, but remember, we’re looking for those down-low, go-SLOW, warmer sounds. As always, you bring your dancing shoes; and we’ll provide the rest xx
