S.A.S.H was founded in May 2011, inspired by the Sunday party culture of Chapel Bar in London and created to fill the gap left in Sydney nightlife after the closure of Sounds on Sunday. What began as a niche Sunday afternoon gathering has grown into a weekly institution, helping define Sydney’s recovery-era nightlife for more than 15 years. Despite the theories around its name, S.A.S.H officially stands for nothing. It was inspired by the TV show MAS*H during the naming process, though fans have since created their own meanings, including “Sorry About Sundays, Honey” and “Sunday Afternoon Sunday House.” The brand became known for its Day & Night marathon format, moving from S.A.S.H by Day in The Greenwood Hotel’s open-air sandstone courtyard to S.A.S.H by Night at Home Nightclub on Darling Harbour. In late 2025, S.A.S.H entered a new chapter with S.A.S.H Saturdays at Carousel Bar & Ballroom on Oxford Street, bringing its community energy into the heart of the weekend. Musically, S.A.S.H is strictly dedicated to house, spanning deep, chuggy grooves through to minimal and tech-house, with a strong focus on sound quality and Funktion-One systems. Its culture is built around a no-phones dance floor, relaxed dress code and a loyal community known for going all-in on fancy dress, especially at the annual April birthday parties. Beyond Sydney, S.A.S.H has expanded to Melbourne, Brisbane, Byron Bay, Wollongong, Bali, Ibiza and London, while S.A.S.H Records launched in 2020 as another extension of the brand.

A trip to Byron is most certainly due as we dive head first into another lucrative long weekend of celebrations. The King has graciously thrown a big birthday bash, so we’ve done the exact same thing… Tenacious Traumer teaches beautiful Byron Bay how to be an absolute bad boy and bring beachy bombs to the sea-side town. The French house fanatic is a bold character behind the decks, his immaculate selection & presence in the booth is what makes him so in-demand, and his serious studio work only multiplies his ability to impress. Being the head of get-traum, Traumer host’s parties with some of the industries most renowned, and provides a platform for some of the most gorgeous groovers via the label. Get-traum? Get-down in Byron for a boogie beat down. Ready to take over from the main man, we’ve enlisted the lickety-split that is Beandip to come for a beachy boogie get down and close out the night in the yummiest way. As they say “the calm before the storm…” so we’ve had no choice but to call in slick selector Calmy to take stage before the straum. The man, the myth, the treasure hunter of dreams...
