S.A.S.H was founded in May 2011, inspired by the Sunday party culture of Chapel Bar in London and created to fill the gap left in Sydney nightlife after the closure of Sounds on Sunday. What began as a niche Sunday afternoon gathering has grown into a weekly institution, helping define Sydney’s recovery-era nightlife for more than 15 years. Despite the theories around its name, S.A.S.H officially stands for nothing. It was inspired by the TV show MAS*H during the naming process, though fans have since created their own meanings, including “Sorry About Sundays, Honey” and “Sunday Afternoon Sunday House.” The brand became known for its Day & Night marathon format, moving from S.A.S.H by Day in The Greenwood Hotel’s open-air sandstone courtyard to S.A.S.H by Night at Home Nightclub on Darling Harbour. In late 2025, S.A.S.H entered a new chapter with S.A.S.H Saturdays at Carousel Bar & Ballroom on Oxford Street, bringing its community energy into the heart of the weekend. Musically, S.A.S.H is strictly dedicated to house, spanning deep, chuggy grooves through to minimal and tech-house, with a strong focus on sound quality and Funktion-One systems. Its culture is built around a no-phones dance floor, relaxed dress code and a loyal community known for going all-in on fancy dress, especially at the annual April birthday parties. Beyond Sydney, S.A.S.H has expanded to Melbourne, Brisbane, Byron Bay, Wollongong, Bali, Ibiza and London, while S.A.S.H Records launched in 2020 as another extension of the brand.

Australians in the 1800s worked up to 14 hours a day, six days a week without sick leave, holiday leave, or job security. The Labour Day long weekend commemorates the granting of the eight-hour working day for Australians and recognises workers’ contributions towards the nation’s economy. … so in short, you kind of have to celebrate. You owe to everyone who came before you. So this is what we’re proposing, as opposed to now working for 14 hours, we’re giving you the option to party for 22. We’re taking no less than 6 international guests and sprinkling them across Sydney’s city scape sharing their take on house music across Watson’s EQ & our hallowed ground, HOME The Venue. The return of crowd favourites, floor fillers and groove distributors, Voigtmann & Rossko with Hamish & Toby making eagerly awaited returns while Christian AB makes his debut. We’re also dishing up Julien Anthony in the mix because you can’t have too much of a good thing! With such a strong international contingency, we’re keeping tight lipped on the local supports for a little while longer… but rest assured, we’re pulling out all the stops for that too!
