S.A.S.H was founded in May 2011, inspired by the Sunday party culture of Chapel Bar in London and created to fill the gap left in Sydney nightlife after the closure of Sounds on Sunday. What began as a niche Sunday afternoon gathering has grown into a weekly institution, helping define Sydney’s recovery-era nightlife for more than 15 years. Despite the theories around its name, S.A.S.H officially stands for nothing. It was inspired by the TV show MAS*H during the naming process, though fans have since created their own meanings, including “Sorry About Sundays, Honey” and “Sunday Afternoon Sunday House.” The brand became known for its Day & Night marathon format, moving from S.A.S.H by Day in The Greenwood Hotel’s open-air sandstone courtyard to S.A.S.H by Night at Home Nightclub on Darling Harbour. In late 2025, S.A.S.H entered a new chapter with S.A.S.H Saturdays at Carousel Bar & Ballroom on Oxford Street, bringing its community energy into the heart of the weekend. Musically, S.A.S.H is strictly dedicated to house, spanning deep, chuggy grooves through to minimal and tech-house, with a strong focus on sound quality and Funktion-One systems. Its culture is built around a no-phones dance floor, relaxed dress code and a loyal community known for going all-in on fancy dress, especially at the annual April birthday parties. Beyond Sydney, S.A.S.H has expanded to Melbourne, Brisbane, Byron Bay, Wollongong, Bali, Ibiza and London, while S.A.S.H Records launched in 2020 as another extension of the brand.

A tradition as old as time, on the Sunday where we give our mothers a little bit of extra loving, we invite our good friends at WeLove to head on down and take control of the full 8 hours of SASH By Day at Watson’s EQ. They’re settling in with a motley crew of the usual suspects. Taking the top honours and filling out the fixings on this sandwich of love, the bossman Nick Reverse, sits between André Müller on the close and a deep and warm Soop taking us through the sunset session. Corey Kennedy makes his SASH By Day-but, opening things up with some deeper cuts and slower struts for the early afternoon. By Night we receive a delight, welcoming one of the UK’s funkiest phenoms, Velvet Velour. In the pulsating realm of house music, Velvet Velour reigns supreme, his sonic escapades gracing the halls of revered labels like Butter Side Up, Welt Discos, and Nuances De Nuit. With melodies that shimmer like candy under disco lights, rhythms that dance with an infectious swing, and basslines that bounce with an irresistible energy, he paints a kaleidoscope of sound. Yet, amidst the playful synth lines lies a depth of emotion that tugs at the soul, crafting a masterful blend of funk and feels that sets dance floors ablaze. Warming things up, Fortue makes his debut inside the walls of SASH By Night at Carousel, with Max Power returning to the booth to bring the night to a close, and send us all on our merry way home to bed.
