S.A.S.H was founded in May 2011, inspired by the Sunday party culture of Chapel Bar in London and created to fill the gap left in Sydney nightlife after the closure of Sounds on Sunday. What began as a niche Sunday afternoon gathering has grown into a weekly institution, helping define Sydney’s recovery-era nightlife for more than 15 years.
Despite the theories around its name, S.A.S.H officially stands for nothing. It was inspired by the TV show MAS*H during the naming process, though fans have since created their own meanings, including “Sorry About Sundays, Honey” and “Sunday Afternoon Sunday House.”
The brand became known for its Day & Night marathon format, moving from S.A.S.H by Day in The Greenwood Hotel’s open-air sandstone courtyard to S.A.S.H by Night at Home Nightclub on Darling Harbour. In late 2025, S.A.S.H entered a new chapter with S.A.S.H Saturdays at Carousel Bar & Ballroom on Oxford Street, bringing its community energy into the heart of the weekend.
Musically, S.A.S.H is strictly dedicated to house, spanning deep, chuggy grooves through to minimal and tech-house, with a strong focus on sound quality and Funktion-One systems. Its culture is built around a no-phones dance floor, relaxed dress code and a loyal community known for going all-in on fancy dress, especially at the annual April birthday parties.
Beyond Sydney, S.A.S.H has expanded to Melbourne, Brisbane, Byron Bay, Wollongong, Bali, Ibiza and London, while S.A.S.H Records launched in 2020 as another extension of the brand.

It’s become something of a tradition now for our friends over at WeLove to take control of the open-air courtyard at Greenwood come Mother’s Day, and this year is no different. Once you’ve finished facetiming mum, or cleaning up after cooking her breakfast in bed, swing on down to SASH By Day and enjoy your hard-earned boogie. Better yet, bring mum along for a wiggle!
This time around our Friday night friends are bringing along head honcho Nick Reverse, supported by a slurry of slick selectas. With vinyl maestro Fean Dojos teaching us a lesson in how to open up properly, Adam Holt takes us through the early afternoon with Soop serenading us through the sunset. André Müller steps in after the boss to close out the evening.
Across at SASH By Night and we’re joined by the magnificent mind behind New Zealand’s Shipwrecked festival, the ever-lovable Logan Baker. A man with an eclectic record bag, he’s a swiss army knife when it comes to mixing, this time around though we’re letting him loose to rip into the OAF Terrace from the stroke of midnight.
Joining him in the factory, Said Dami returns, this time to close out the night, with Ksea making his by night debut to get us grooving from the get go.
