S.A.S.H was founded in May 2011, inspired by the Sunday party culture of Chapel Bar in London and created to fill the gap left in Sydney nightlife after the closure of Sounds on Sunday. What began as a niche Sunday afternoon gathering has grown into a weekly institution, helping define Sydney’s recovery-era nightlife for more than 15 years. Despite the theories around its name, S.A.S.H officially stands for nothing. It was inspired by the TV show MAS*H during the naming process, though fans have since created their own meanings, including “Sorry About Sundays, Honey” and “Sunday Afternoon Sunday House.” The brand became known for its Day & Night marathon format, moving from S.A.S.H by Day in The Greenwood Hotel’s open-air sandstone courtyard to S.A.S.H by Night at Home Nightclub on Darling Harbour. In late 2025, S.A.S.H entered a new chapter with S.A.S.H Saturdays at Carousel Bar & Ballroom on Oxford Street, bringing its community energy into the heart of the weekend. Musically, S.A.S.H is strictly dedicated to house, spanning deep, chuggy grooves through to minimal and tech-house, with a strong focus on sound quality and Funktion-One systems. Its culture is built around a no-phones dance floor, relaxed dress code and a loyal community known for going all-in on fancy dress, especially at the annual April birthday parties. Beyond Sydney, S.A.S.H has expanded to Melbourne, Brisbane, Byron Bay, Wollongong, Bali, Ibiza and London, while S.A.S.H Records launched in 2020 as another extension of the brand.

Cool, calm & collected is how we describe the early hours at Carousel. It keeps us warm, and turns it up a notch as the night goes on. This particular week is one set for celebration as we’re flooded with birthdays and specialist sessions… The prime time Romanian: Sepp, arrives on Australian shores, ready to tango with his esteemed guest for a monstrous 6 hour extended back to back. Deep, rolling, beefy beats are what you can expect as the two artists battle it out behind the decks for an endless night of groove. Sepp & his guest are renowned for their appearances overseas, and constantly provide exactly what the dance floor needs to keep it going. Doctavio & Luca Attanasio share the stage & birthday celebrations before they hand over to our international friends. English expat Adam Holt prepares to take control after our guests, who is also ready to rumble with his birthday hat on. Devious duo mof & Ronan jump in for some afternoon action under the blue lights, with birthday boy Clemm swapping out his afternoon shift for a stint behind the decks with his partner in crime One.
