S.A.S.H was founded in May 2011, inspired by the Sunday party culture of Chapel Bar in London and created to fill the gap left in Sydney nightlife after the closure of Sounds on Sunday. What began as a niche Sunday afternoon gathering has grown into a weekly institution, helping define Sydney’s recovery-era nightlife for more than 15 years. Despite the theories around its name, S.A.S.H officially stands for nothing. It was inspired by the TV show MAS*H during the naming process, though fans have since created their own meanings, including “Sorry About Sundays, Honey” and “Sunday Afternoon Sunday House.” The brand became known for its Day & Night marathon format, moving from S.A.S.H by Day in The Greenwood Hotel’s open-air sandstone courtyard to S.A.S.H by Night at Home Nightclub on Darling Harbour. In late 2025, S.A.S.H entered a new chapter with S.A.S.H Saturdays at Carousel Bar & Ballroom on Oxford Street, bringing its community energy into the heart of the weekend. Musically, S.A.S.H is strictly dedicated to house, spanning deep, chuggy grooves through to minimal and tech-house, with a strong focus on sound quality and Funktion-One systems. Its culture is built around a no-phones dance floor, relaxed dress code and a loyal community known for going all-in on fancy dress, especially at the annual April birthday parties. Beyond Sydney, S.A.S.H has expanded to Melbourne, Brisbane, Byron Bay, Wollongong, Bali, Ibiza and London, while S.A.S.H Records launched in 2020 as another extension of the brand.

Whilst the temperature feels sub-zero, we’ve enlisted some of the coolest cats to come and cancel out the coldness, and bring their jet-fuelled bumpy bops to keep the heat alive at Watson’s EQ. The man of the hour: Andre Buljat, swaps out the sun-kissed air of Barcelona, for the courtyard of coolness. With our big purple boxes completely installed, Euro-summer bombs are being directed to Watson’s, straight from the source. With all our sinks now fixed, Andre Buljat heads over to Watson’s EQ for some heat based construction. His B^2 background of Barcelona & Berlin have shaped him to deliver a sound that covers the spectrum of all things house & techno. Work under his belt with the likes of Pacha in Barcelona with SIGHT, Andre has most definitely been in and around the groove. Andre is joined by some fine horsemen to round out the afternoon. Chief of Electronics Department: Kemba, settles in for an evening of moonlight, tequila & not touching cables so he can play some delicious tunes and enjoy not being at work. Big birthday boy boof struts hit stuff as he takes on the afternoon sun head first. Ufday has gone some rounds with the yellow horse but is ultimately here to take the cake and eat it after he polishes his records to make the dance floor groove. WALDOS waddles into the courtyard early on to get things ready for the day ahead. His stripped back attitude translates to his style, as he’ll be strutting his stuff as the doors open. With Watson’s EQ slowly on its way towards being an ice den, Carousel ensures you’ll stay rugged up for a night of dancing! Our fiery red lights and dance floor heaters are sure to keep you warm. Lili Joy steps into Carousel with her radiant energy! With a lotta love, and a whole lotta good tunes, Lili is sure to make you move. The Melbourne local makes her way North, ready for a good time and nothing less. Tyler Hudson crashes into Carousel for a solo endeavour, prepped with only a record bag & a love for all things minimal. Our very own tech wiz-kid: Jay McMullen, fizzes things up with his partner in crime: Dealis, as this dynamic duo pair up to take control of Carousel in the early hours of Monday morning. This pair has a history of hidden ID’s and vicious vinyl, so get in the mood to groove with an all star night. As always, you bring your dancing shoes, and we’ll provide the rest xx
