S.A.S.H was founded in May 2011, inspired by the Sunday party culture of Chapel Bar in London and created to fill the gap left in Sydney nightlife after the closure of Sounds on Sunday. What began as a niche Sunday afternoon gathering has grown into a weekly institution, helping define Sydney’s recovery-era nightlife for more than 15 years. Despite the theories around its name, S.A.S.H officially stands for nothing. It was inspired by the TV show MAS*H during the naming process, though fans have since created their own meanings, including “Sorry About Sundays, Honey” and “Sunday Afternoon Sunday House.” The brand became known for its Day & Night marathon format, moving from S.A.S.H by Day in The Greenwood Hotel’s open-air sandstone courtyard to S.A.S.H by Night at Home Nightclub on Darling Harbour. In late 2025, S.A.S.H entered a new chapter with S.A.S.H Saturdays at Carousel Bar & Ballroom on Oxford Street, bringing its community energy into the heart of the weekend. Musically, S.A.S.H is strictly dedicated to house, spanning deep, chuggy grooves through to minimal and tech-house, with a strong focus on sound quality and Funktion-One systems. Its culture is built around a no-phones dance floor, relaxed dress code and a loyal community known for going all-in on fancy dress, especially at the annual April birthday parties. Beyond Sydney, S.A.S.H has expanded to Melbourne, Brisbane, Byron Bay, Wollongong, Bali, Ibiza and London, while S.A.S.H Records launched in 2020 as another extension of the brand.

ALERT, unidentified assailant - codename: [Autumn] - has commenced hostile takeover on home soil after bunkering down in the shade during Summer. Initial reports require further analysis and review but it appears as though the reduction in heat and UV index has resulted in partying outdoors being more comfortable. We’ve enlisted the Birmingham Brigadier; Subb-an, to investigate this anomaly further; he has been given permission to commence offence and has a stellar selection of Subb-atomic bombs primed. Slammed, rammed and fully-manned, the file and rank are well-armed to provide Su(bb)pport on the frontlines. The Funk-Master Blaster, Drill Sergeant Ben Pailas sits comfortably in his sits atop the subb-machine suppressive fire, as his subb-sonic signals are sure to do damage to the dance floor before the Sergeant. Corporal Ksea charges ahead, captaining the counter-strike team as officer cadet O’Gio organises operations for the early afternoon. Tactical Pilots; Tezzel & Pol take us deep into defensive procedures, going balls to the wall within the confines of Carousel territory. These Brazilian Battlestars are armed to the teeth and ready to rumble with assailants attempting an ambush on the dancefloor. Missile Maestro Minh mans the fort to sonically beat-down whatever steps in to impede the groove. The ruthless renegade comes with an arsenal to cover any situation, leaving the club in safe hands during the final hours. We’ve sent in Specialist Soop to lock down and assemble Carousel for the engagement ahead, with a set of Night-Vision goggles and a backlog of prior deployments, Carousel will be impenetrable for the entirety of the evening. As always, you bring your dancing shoes, and we’ll provide the rest xx
