S.A.S.H was founded in May 2011, inspired by the Sunday party culture of Chapel Bar in London and created to fill the gap left in Sydney nightlife after the closure of Sounds on Sunday. What began as a niche Sunday afternoon gathering has grown into a weekly institution, helping define Sydney’s recovery-era nightlife for more than 15 years. Despite the theories around its name, S.A.S.H officially stands for nothing. It was inspired by the TV show MAS*H during the naming process, though fans have since created their own meanings, including “Sorry About Sundays, Honey” and “Sunday Afternoon Sunday House.” The brand became known for its Day & Night marathon format, moving from S.A.S.H by Day in The Greenwood Hotel’s open-air sandstone courtyard to S.A.S.H by Night at Home Nightclub on Darling Harbour. In late 2025, S.A.S.H entered a new chapter with S.A.S.H Saturdays at Carousel Bar & Ballroom on Oxford Street, bringing its community energy into the heart of the weekend. Musically, S.A.S.H is strictly dedicated to house, spanning deep, chuggy grooves through to minimal and tech-house, with a strong focus on sound quality and Funktion-One systems. Its culture is built around a no-phones dance floor, relaxed dress code and a loyal community known for going all-in on fancy dress, especially at the annual April birthday parties. Beyond Sydney, S.A.S.H has expanded to Melbourne, Brisbane, Byron Bay, Wollongong, Bali, Ibiza and London, while S.A.S.H Records launched in 2020 as another extension of the brand.

This week we welcome back our favourite stitch-wielding, tune slinging, connoisseurs of hand-woven, antique textiles. We are, of course, talking about Persian Rug. The devilish duo from the Northern Beaches have been donning our dancefloors with delectable dishes of deep, dirty and downright disgusting house music for nearly a decade now. They’ll be taking on the bold print and closing out this Sunday’s occasion. Looking after the warmup, Newcastle’s filthiest frothas, Tomek & Ben Pailas link arms, legs and everything else for 2 hours of stripped back, old school sounds. The Coloursound lads have been in the game for far longer than they’d care to admit, but have shown no signs of slowing down just yet. Rounding out the Sunday afternoon, O’Gio makes his SASH debut, kicking us off with some low-slung, well-hung deep house grooves to get us in the mood. Over at Oxford Art Factory what was supposed to be an all-out back-to-back affair has been left in tatters as Jack T abandoned us for the warmer weathers of Europe, leaving Just Neeso to fend for himself from the stroke of 12. Despite the downfall, we all know Neeso was just keeping Jack around for his dashing good looks anyway, and he’s more than capable of dishing out those big Terrace Rollers all on his lonesome. Sandwiched firmly between the pairings of Dealis & Jay McMullen to open, with Kemba & Alice Burcovich to close, this fine feast is full of flavour.
