S.A.S.H was founded in May 2011, inspired by the Sunday party culture of Chapel Bar in London and created to fill the gap left in Sydney nightlife after the closure of Sounds on Sunday. What began as a niche Sunday afternoon gathering has grown into a weekly institution, helping define Sydney’s recovery-era nightlife for more than 15 years. Despite the theories around its name, S.A.S.H officially stands for nothing. It was inspired by the TV show MAS*H during the naming process, though fans have since created their own meanings, including “Sorry About Sundays, Honey” and “Sunday Afternoon Sunday House.” The brand became known for its Day & Night marathon format, moving from S.A.S.H by Day in The Greenwood Hotel’s open-air sandstone courtyard to S.A.S.H by Night at Home Nightclub on Darling Harbour. In late 2025, S.A.S.H entered a new chapter with S.A.S.H Saturdays at Carousel Bar & Ballroom on Oxford Street, bringing its community energy into the heart of the weekend. Musically, S.A.S.H is strictly dedicated to house, spanning deep, chuggy grooves through to minimal and tech-house, with a strong focus on sound quality and Funktion-One systems. Its culture is built around a no-phones dance floor, relaxed dress code and a loyal community known for going all-in on fancy dress, especially at the annual April birthday parties. Beyond Sydney, S.A.S.H has expanded to Melbourne, Brisbane, Byron Bay, Wollongong, Bali, Ibiza and London, while S.A.S.H Records launched in 2020 as another extension of the brand.

The last week of Winter and what an absolute romper of a day and night we’ve got for you. By Day we welcome up some of the most exciting up and coming prospects from our South Coast neighbours. The lovely seaside city of Wollongong has always held a dear place in our heart, so it’s our great pleasure to welcome up Penzance House and Four On The Floor to host the afternoon, and show us how they throwdown in Wollongong town. They’ve invited down a pair of big-ticket items to take the bold font and bring the heat. Carlo Gambino and Kleo are two of our most trusted DJs. Whether it’s taking us on a proper journey in The Den for Breakfast at S.A.S.H on the long weekend, or delving deep into the wee hours of the morning to close out S.A.S.H By Night, these class selectas have no trouble in any situation. To kick off the day, and get the ball rolling, residents and friends from Penzance House & FOTF will be taking control of the first few hours of the afternoon, whether it’s for the sunset with a cocktail in hand, or after dark when the blue lights make their mark. Win-ever we need someone to bring the groove, or Win-ever we need a friend to set the mood, WINNY has been there ready to roll. We did some digging, and couldn’t believe our eyes when we realised, she hadn’t had her time in the bold print. If ever there was someone you could say ‘well deserved and well overdue’ It’s WINNY. Her tunes are class, and her mixing is flawless, it’s about damn time she took out top honours. Sandwiched soundly between Myndgame making his Terrace debut, and Angus Kyle keeping the dancefloor grooving till the end, It’s a full feast at Oxford Art Factory to send off Winter.
