S.A.S.H was founded in May 2011, inspired by the Sunday party culture of Chapel Bar in London and created to fill the gap left in Sydney nightlife after the closure of Sounds on Sunday. What began as a niche Sunday afternoon gathering has grown into a weekly institution, helping define Sydney’s recovery-era nightlife for more than 15 years. Despite the theories around its name, S.A.S.H officially stands for nothing. It was inspired by the TV show MAS*H during the naming process, though fans have since created their own meanings, including “Sorry About Sundays, Honey” and “Sunday Afternoon Sunday House.” The brand became known for its Day & Night marathon format, moving from S.A.S.H by Day in The Greenwood Hotel’s open-air sandstone courtyard to S.A.S.H by Night at Home Nightclub on Darling Harbour. In late 2025, S.A.S.H entered a new chapter with S.A.S.H Saturdays at Carousel Bar & Ballroom on Oxford Street, bringing its community energy into the heart of the weekend. Musically, S.A.S.H is strictly dedicated to house, spanning deep, chuggy grooves through to minimal and tech-house, with a strong focus on sound quality and Funktion-One systems. Its culture is built around a no-phones dance floor, relaxed dress code and a loyal community known for going all-in on fancy dress, especially at the annual April birthday parties. Beyond Sydney, S.A.S.H has expanded to Melbourne, Brisbane, Byron Bay, Wollongong, Bali, Ibiza and London, while S.A.S.H Records launched in 2020 as another extension of the brand.

We don’t want to bring any further existential dread into your lives, but can you believe we’re into the last month of Spring!?!? The Parisian prince of house - Djebali now announced for headline duties! In the meantime, however, you can rest easy with the knowledge that Josefina Tapia has returned to Australian shores. Dance floor ejecta, record collecta, and all-time selecta, Josefina has been one of our absolute favourites for a while now, and it’s a proper pleasure to welcome her back to Sydney. In charge of the afternoon, Minh strips it back, delivering deep driving basslines, with electric melodies that bounce between the silhouettes of the trees. Opening up the afternoon, fresh off the back of an absolutely exceptional warmup up in Newcastle for S.A.S.H over the October Long Weekend, ROSS MVNRO makes his SASH By Day-but, trading the means streets of Bar Beach, for the warm lawn of the Watson’s EQ Courtyard. By night Blake + Lachie step into Carousel’s suspended booth for the first time, returning musically inspired from Europe, having found themselves, and lost parts of themselves. They’ll be keeping us cool enough to be seen on the terrace floor, but warm enough to be ready for a whole lot more when the secret guest shows their face. Jack T & Neeso bring things to a close. As usual, the last ones standing, or stumbling, or hanging from the rafters, there’s few as ferociously dedicated to a late night, early morning and then some more than these two late night, low-light, dance-music connoisseurs.
