S.A.S.H was founded in May 2011, inspired by the Sunday party culture of Chapel Bar in London and created to fill the gap left in Sydney nightlife after the closure of Sounds on Sunday. What began as a niche Sunday afternoon gathering has grown into a weekly institution, helping define Sydney’s recovery-era nightlife for more than 15 years. Despite the theories around its name, S.A.S.H officially stands for nothing. It was inspired by the TV show MAS*H during the naming process, though fans have since created their own meanings, including “Sorry About Sundays, Honey” and “Sunday Afternoon Sunday House.” The brand became known for its Day & Night marathon format, moving from S.A.S.H by Day in The Greenwood Hotel’s open-air sandstone courtyard to S.A.S.H by Night at Home Nightclub on Darling Harbour. In late 2025, S.A.S.H entered a new chapter with S.A.S.H Saturdays at Carousel Bar & Ballroom on Oxford Street, bringing its community energy into the heart of the weekend. Musically, S.A.S.H is strictly dedicated to house, spanning deep, chuggy grooves through to minimal and tech-house, with a strong focus on sound quality and Funktion-One systems. Its culture is built around a no-phones dance floor, relaxed dress code and a loyal community known for going all-in on fancy dress, especially at the annual April birthday parties. Beyond Sydney, S.A.S.H has expanded to Melbourne, Brisbane, Byron Bay, Wollongong, Bali, Ibiza and London, while S.A.S.H Records launched in 2020 as another extension of the brand.

For round 2 in the S.A.S.H Igloo, we’ve invited down the crew from Back To Boogie Wonderland to take control with their resident DJs for the entire day. They’ll be commanding our huge 12 metre geometric dome (Igloo) that covers the Greenwood Terrace from open to close. Our Igloo will protect us from the wind, the rain, and is acoustically perfect thanks to our slick Funktion One rig. All of this is made possible thanks to our good friends at Fireball who have installed the igloo for us. As always, complementing the S.A.S.H Igloo there will be a number of wintery additions on a weekly basis - fire pits surrounding the Igloo to keep us toasty, snowflakes falling upon us, a Fireball shot bar and hot apple pie cider. Across the bridge and deep into the darkness, B.A.G resident, serious digger, record collecta and all-time selecta louís will be taking control of the platters that matter from the stroke of 12. With Teba and Tano.B on opening duties we know we’ll be well warmed before louís takes the stage. Jono Xidias steps into the close to round out another romper of a night down in the underground playground that is Oxford Art Factory.
