S.A.S.H was founded in May 2011, inspired by the Sunday party culture of Chapel Bar in London and created to fill the gap left in Sydney nightlife after the closure of Sounds on Sunday. What began as a niche Sunday afternoon gathering has grown into a weekly institution, helping define Sydney’s recovery-era nightlife for more than 15 years.
Despite the theories around its name, S.A.S.H officially stands for nothing. It was inspired by the TV show MAS*H during the naming process, though fans have since created their own meanings, including “Sorry About Sundays, Honey” and “Sunday Afternoon Sunday House.”
The brand became known for its Day & Night marathon format, moving from S.A.S.H by Day in The Greenwood Hotel’s open-air sandstone courtyard to S.A.S.H by Night at Home Nightclub on Darling Harbour. In late 2025, S.A.S.H entered a new chapter with S.A.S.H Saturdays at Carousel Bar & Ballroom on Oxford Street, bringing its community energy into the heart of the weekend.
Musically, S.A.S.H is strictly dedicated to house, spanning deep, chuggy grooves through to minimal and tech-house, with a strong focus on sound quality and Funktion-One systems. Its culture is built around a no-phones dance floor, relaxed dress code and a loyal community known for going all-in on fancy dress, especially at the annual April birthday parties.
Beyond Sydney, S.A.S.H has expanded to Melbourne, Brisbane, Byron Bay, Wollongong, Bali, Ibiza and London, while S.A.S.H Records launched in 2020 as another extension of the brand.

Summer is well and truly underway now and as the sunny Sundays roll on through there is simply no better place to be than the stunning open-air terrace of Greenwood Hotel. Basking in the sun with the Funktion Ones firing on all cylinders, we kick off the summer series with Gene On Earth.
This Californian turned Berliner is undeniably one of dance music's most innovative figures in recent years. After moving to the German capital, he immediately started to make a name for himself as a crate digger, a DJ and eventually as a producer. He successfully runs his own Limousine Dream record label and recently launched its TSOL offspring. His sound has taken the scene by storm as he graces the booth at the best clubs and festivals worldwide.
Fresh back from a euro stint, Nate S.U makes a very long-awaited return to our stables. With plenty of new music released and even more hidden in the vault, there are few who suit the warmup for GoE as perfectly as our mate Nate.
Luca Attanasio returns to the afternoon slot, with a track just signed to Gene’s sublabel we’re looking forward to getting the full limousine treatment at day. Ft Mode jumps into the opening slot to round out a seriously stellar lineup.
Across the pond and under the earth, Cessy returns for 2 hours of power to the OAF Terrace with Doctavio sliding into the close. El Capitano takes control of the warmup.
