S.A.S.H was founded in May 2011, inspired by the Sunday party culture of Chapel Bar in London and created to fill the gap left in Sydney nightlife after the closure of Sounds on Sunday. What began as a niche Sunday afternoon gathering has grown into a weekly institution, helping define Sydney’s recovery-era nightlife for more than 15 years. Despite the theories around its name, S.A.S.H officially stands for nothing. It was inspired by the TV show MAS*H during the naming process, though fans have since created their own meanings, including “Sorry About Sundays, Honey” and “Sunday Afternoon Sunday House.” The brand became known for its Day & Night marathon format, moving from S.A.S.H by Day in The Greenwood Hotel’s open-air sandstone courtyard to S.A.S.H by Night at Home Nightclub on Darling Harbour. In late 2025, S.A.S.H entered a new chapter with S.A.S.H Saturdays at Carousel Bar & Ballroom on Oxford Street, bringing its community energy into the heart of the weekend. Musically, S.A.S.H is strictly dedicated to house, spanning deep, chuggy grooves through to minimal and tech-house, with a strong focus on sound quality and Funktion-One systems. Its culture is built around a no-phones dance floor, relaxed dress code and a loyal community known for going all-in on fancy dress, especially at the annual April birthday parties. Beyond Sydney, S.A.S.H has expanded to Melbourne, Brisbane, Byron Bay, Wollongong, Bali, Ibiza and London, while S.A.S.H Records launched in 2020 as another extension of the brand.

It feels like just yesterday some of us were scraping ourselves off the floor of The Prince after the Halloween weekend. Now we’re fast approaching the Boxing Day Long weekend and the beginning of Gooch Week, that time between the ass end of Christmas and the dick around of New Year’s Eve. In this confusing time of the year, allow us to take one decision off your hands as we invite you to join us at The Prince Consort for another full venue takeover. We’ll be operating from 6pm until 3am for 9 hours of DJs and dancing across 4 rooms. To celebrate the beginning of the end of the year properly we’ve invited down 3 of our favourite Brisbane crews to each take control of a room. Sessions are in to take over The Den and MNML are guiding us through The Maze. Up in The Box at La La Land Electric Kitchen have stepped up to the platters that matter, showcasing some of their best.
