S.A.S.H was founded in May 2011, inspired by the Sunday party culture of Chapel Bar in London and created to fill the gap left in Sydney nightlife after the closure of Sounds on Sunday. What began as a niche Sunday afternoon gathering has grown into a weekly institution, helping define Sydney’s recovery-era nightlife for more than 15 years. Despite the theories around its name, S.A.S.H officially stands for nothing. It was inspired by the TV show MAS*H during the naming process, though fans have since created their own meanings, including “Sorry About Sundays, Honey” and “Sunday Afternoon Sunday House.” The brand became known for its Day & Night marathon format, moving from S.A.S.H by Day in The Greenwood Hotel’s open-air sandstone courtyard to S.A.S.H by Night at Home Nightclub on Darling Harbour. In late 2025, S.A.S.H entered a new chapter with S.A.S.H Saturdays at Carousel Bar & Ballroom on Oxford Street, bringing its community energy into the heart of the weekend. Musically, S.A.S.H is strictly dedicated to house, spanning deep, chuggy grooves through to minimal and tech-house, with a strong focus on sound quality and Funktion-One systems. Its culture is built around a no-phones dance floor, relaxed dress code and a loyal community known for going all-in on fancy dress, especially at the annual April birthday parties. Beyond Sydney, S.A.S.H has expanded to Melbourne, Brisbane, Byron Bay, Wollongong, Bali, Ibiza and London, while S.A.S.H Records launched in 2020 as another extension of the brand.

With Winter looming large in our home country, the boss has set his sights on brighter lights and warmer nights, and jet set off to the lush beach side in Bali. S.A.S.H Social is back, this time trading the white isle in Ibiza for the sunny beach side of Bali. With a series of monthly events kickstarting at the rear-end of June, we’re sending our most tried and tested disc ringers and wax slingers across the indo-pacific to show em how it’s done. Bad Boy Bali Baartz sits atop the bill, no truer gentlemen and no more fitting selecta to take out top honours for the first session up North. Of course, he’s followed closely behind by El Capitan, Kerry Wallace. Our main man on Indonesian ground, James Taylor, blends right in with local stalwart and Escape Presents bossman Kaiser Waldon, whilst Tezzel, the most recent Braz-Aussie expat to make the Island his home rounds out this stellar lineup of proper house music heads. Come on down and join the SASH crew for an afternoon of low-slung, well-hung groovers, thousands of cocktails and maybe a laugh or two along the way.
