S.A.S.H was founded in May 2011, inspired by the Sunday party culture of Chapel Bar in London and created to fill the gap left in Sydney nightlife after the closure of Sounds on Sunday. What began as a niche Sunday afternoon gathering has grown into a weekly institution, helping define Sydney’s recovery-era nightlife for more than 15 years. Despite the theories around its name, S.A.S.H officially stands for nothing. It was inspired by the TV show MAS*H during the naming process, though fans have since created their own meanings, including “Sorry About Sundays, Honey” and “Sunday Afternoon Sunday House.” The brand became known for its Day & Night marathon format, moving from S.A.S.H by Day in The Greenwood Hotel’s open-air sandstone courtyard to S.A.S.H by Night at Home Nightclub on Darling Harbour. In late 2025, S.A.S.H entered a new chapter with S.A.S.H Saturdays at Carousel Bar & Ballroom on Oxford Street, bringing its community energy into the heart of the weekend. Musically, S.A.S.H is strictly dedicated to house, spanning deep, chuggy grooves through to minimal and tech-house, with a strong focus on sound quality and Funktion-One systems. Its culture is built around a no-phones dance floor, relaxed dress code and a loyal community known for going all-in on fancy dress, especially at the annual April birthday parties. Beyond Sydney, S.A.S.H has expanded to Melbourne, Brisbane, Byron Bay, Wollongong, Bali, Ibiza and London, while S.A.S.H Records launched in 2020 as another extension of the brand.
Over October 7/8/9 Hotel S.A.S.H Bali is officially here! That's right, you read correctly, we're taking over an entire hotel in Bali for the weekend - let that sink in! With daily parties by the pool looking out to the sea every day from midday until sunset, before a small intermission as we move to the S.A.S.H Bali Terrace to party from 7pm - into the morning hours. In addition to some of Australia's & Bali's finest locals on the bill, will also be accompanied by multiple S.A.S.H favourite international artists each day. As always, the soundtrack for the weekend will resonate through a beautiful Funktion One sound system (the only one in Bali), both poolside during the day and on The S.A.S.H Terrace in the evenings. Join us on an adventure of sun, sea, sand & pool parties all weekend long!
