HAVEN
Originally beginning as a techno and experimental focused club night in Auckland, New Zealand – and now based in Christchurch - Keepsakes and Jaded Nineties Raver’s Haven imprint is aiming to bring the best of the country’s new guard of dance music on to the world stage alongside some distinctive voices from the international scene. Pushing a sound that is equally inspired by the techno, rave, and electro tunes of the 90s, the new wave sound of the 70s and 80s, and the experimental sound design of industrial and noise artists, Haven is working to advance these left-of-centre voices at home and abroad with their individually crunchy sonic waves.
HAVEN are back with another mid-winter sweat session for all you Ōtautahi degenerates in the Galaxy Arcade - this time featuring an all-night, all-vinyl set from co-founder Keepsakes...
Recently back in Aotearoa from an extensive 3-month European tour, including dates at renowned clubs such as London's Fold and Berlin's RSO, Keepsakes has had a storming past 12 months also including releases on Spanish superstar DJ Hector Oaks' KAOS/OAKS imprint and seminal UK label Perc Trax. This adds to his decade-long career that has also included releases on the likes of South London Analogue Material, Mord, Earwiggle and more as well as multiple international tours.
Despite being known for pushing the harder end of the techno spectrum, his 13 years of record collecting have spanned a wide variety of dance music genres. From techno and house, to break-beats and bass mutations, to 80s EBM/industrial classics and IDM experiments - this session will represent the full range of Keepsakes' musical tastes and inspirations.
