S.A.S.H
S.A.S.H was founded in May 2011, inspired by the Sunday party culture of Chapel Bar in London and created to fill the gap left in Sydney nightlife after the closure of Sounds on Sunday. What began as a niche Sunday afternoon gathering has grown into a weekly institution, helping define Sydney’s recovery-era nightlife for more than 15 years.
Despite the theories around its name, S.A.S.H officially stands for nothing. It was inspired by the TV show MAS*H during the naming process, though fans have since created their own meanings, including “Sorry About Sundays, Honey” and “Sunday Afternoon Sunday House.”
The brand became known for its Day & Night marathon format, moving from S.A.S.H by Day in The Greenwood Hotel’s open-air sandstone courtyard to S.A.S.H by Night at Home Nightclub on Darling Harbour. In late 2025, S.A.S.H entered a new chapter with S.A.S.H Saturdays at Carousel Bar & Ballroom on Oxford Street, bringing its community energy into the heart of the weekend.
Musically, S.A.S.H is strictly dedicated to house, spanning deep, chuggy grooves through to minimal and tech-house, with a strong focus on sound quality and Funktion-One systems. Its culture is built around a no-phones dance floor, relaxed dress code and a loyal community known for going all-in on fancy dress, especially at the annual April birthday parties.
Beyond Sydney, S.A.S.H has expanded to Melbourne, Brisbane, Byron Bay, Wollongong, Bali, Ibiza and London, while S.A.S.H Records launched in 2020 as another extension of the brand.

As we prepare for the new year, we’ve called upon some dance floor directors to come through and command the crew to fix up some leaks, to ensure everything is in working order for the year ahead. Top of the chain director: Dylan Griffin, has rounded up a crew of hard workers both young & old, to come and get hard at work for a session within the walls of Carousel, plugin’ pipes with tools for toilets. Hardhat business AU Underground has stepped in to survey the workers as they get down and dirty, whilst they keep the place in check and report any mischief that goes on.
A staple within the underground house scene, Dylan Griffin has graced parties across the globe, whilst being true to his home & making the rounds with some of Australia’s most groove infected parties. His groove construction business, AU Underground, has seen some of the industries most established stop by for a visit, to ensure all their sinks are in fine working order.
Crolly & Denzy receive recent promotions through work, and have worked their way into the final WHS meeting of the night. These two boys have made quite a mess up north, so we’ve taken them away for an overnight session to try and straighten them out. They’ll take over from the main man Dylan, and be put to work until the early hours of the morning. Czed & Ethan Watmore team up before handing over to the boss, the dynamic pair will ensure the site is in fine working order. Another devious duo is in our midst, luckily Dylan Griffin will be there to observe and clean up any mess left behind. Prakash steps into Carousel with his hi-vis jacket for the first time. A recent graduation from the dancefloor has seen him gain entry to the decks via a new workplace position. He’ll open things
